License & Commercial Use

Licensing terms for diagrams you create with ConceptViz — free accounts, credit packs, Yearly membership, Lifetime, grandfathered Education grants, and Education or Creator discount purchases.

2026/08/17

1. Purpose

ConceptViz is an AI tool for creating educational, scientific, and technical diagrams. These licensing terms explain how you may use diagrams generated through the Service. They work together with our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

2. Who is “free” vs “paid” for licensing

For this License page:

StatusMeaning
Free accountYou have never completed a successful, non-refunded paid purchase on ConceptViz. Registration gift credits (for example, a small starter credit balance) do not count as a paid purchase.
Paid accountYou have at least one successful, non-refunded paid purchase (for example a credit pack, Yearly membership, Lifetime membership, or a legacy paid plan).
Refunded onlyIf every paid purchase is fully refunded (and you have no other successful non-refunded payment), you are treated as a free account again for watermark and commercial-use rules.
Grandfathered Education grantAn account that already received an Education or Community credit grant, or equivalent manual education access, and still has that grant. These accounts keep the credit-pack-level generation rights they were promised (including no watermark and commercial use as in §3). They do not receive Yearly or Lifetime membership benefits unless they also buy those products.
Education / Creator discountApproval for the current Education or Creator program issues a personal, one-time discount for one eligible purchase. Approval or receiving a code does not change watermark, commercial-use, or paid-feature rights. After you complete a successful purchase, the product you bought controls those rights.

Watermarking and feature access in the product are designed to follow this classification. If anything looks wrong in the app, contact us — the written rules on this page control in case of conflict with UI labels.

3. Rights by account type

3.1 Free accounts

  • Commercial use: Not permitted
  • Watermark: Diagrams include a ConceptViz watermark (for example conceptviz.app). You must not remove, crop out, or obscure it when sharing outside your own lesson-prep workspace.
  • Allowed: Personal study; teaching your own students; internal classroom or LMS use for evaluation
  • Not allowed: Selling materials; paid courses/marketplaces; public marketing for a business; redistributing diagrams to other teachers for reuse or resale; district-wide or textbook commercial distribution
  • Credits: Free accounts may receive a small registration gift credit balance. Using gift credits still produces watermarked diagrams under free-account rules. There is no separate “free preview without watermark” generation program.

3.2 Paid accounts (credit packs, Yearly, Lifetime, and other paid products)

  • Commercial use: Permitted for diagrams generated while you qualify as a paid account, subject to these terms and the Acceptable Use / Content Policy rules
  • Watermark: Paid accounts generate without the free-tier brand watermark
  • Scope examples: Paid curriculum, tutoring materials, marketplace listings, publications, client work, and public marketing — provided the content is otherwise lawful and accurate enough for your use case
  • Which paid product you hold (credit pack vs Yearly vs Lifetime) mainly affects features and credits, not the basic commercial-use grant in this section
  • After canceling Yearly: If you cancel auto-renewal, you keep commercial rights for diagrams generated while you were a paid account, provided you complied with these terms when those diagrams were generated. New diagrams after you no longer qualify as a paid account (for example after a full refund with no other paid purchases) fall under free-account rules
  • Account basis: One individual account. Organization-wide or district-wide rights need a separate agreement

3.3 Grandfathered Education grants

  • Commercial use: Same commercial permission as paid credit-pack-level use under §3.2 for diagrams generated while the existing Education or Community credit grant remains active
  • Watermark: No free-tier brand watermark while that existing grant remains active
  • Not included: Yearly membership features (for example membership-only bulk limits, membership pack discounts) and Lifetime membership benefits, unless you purchase those products separately
  • If the grant ends: New diagrams follow free or paid rules according to whether you still qualify under §2
  • Existing Education or Community credit grants are not rewritten or revoked by the current Education / Creator discount program

3.4 Education / Creator discount

  • A reviewed Education or Creator application may receive a personal code for one successful eligible purchase
  • Education is 40% off that purchase (you pay 60%); Creator is 30% off that purchase (you pay 70%)
  • The code expires 60 days after it is issued and does not stack with another discount on the same checkout
  • Yearly membership uses the discount on the first invoice only; later renewal invoices are charged at the then-current list price
  • Approval, a pending code, or an unused code does not remove the watermark or grant commercial, membership, API, Bulk, or other paid rights
  • After a successful purchase, watermark, commercial-use, and feature rights follow the product you bought under §3.2

4. Classroom vs commercial examples

Use caseFree accountPaid account or active grandfathered Education grant
Slide decks, handouts, LMS posts for your own students✅ (keep watermark)✅
Selling curriculum bundles, worksheets, or course access❌✅
Marketing for a tutoring business or paid PD course❌✅
District-wide adoption, textbook inclusion, or public product sites❌✅ (attribution optional)
Giving diagrams to other teachers to resell or republish❌✅ only if recipients have their own ConceptViz license rights; you may not transfer your commercial license as a product

5. Ownership & responsibility

  • You retain rights to diagrams you create, subject to the limits above
  • ConceptViz does not train its internal models on your private prompts or generated images
  • You are responsible for avoiding infringing prompts (logos, copyrighted characters, etc.) and for reviewing diagrams before publishing, teaching, building, installing, testing, or distributing them
  • Commercial-use rights do not mean a diagram is technically accurate, safe, code-compliant, clinically accurate, or fit for regulated or real-world use

6. Prohibited content & uses

Regardless of plan, you agree not to:

  • Generate unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, or harmful content
  • Attempt to extract or disclose our underlying systems or training data
  • Resell access to ConceptViz or present the Service as your own
  • Use diagrams to mislead others about safety-critical procedures
  • Remove free-tier watermarks or claim free-tier outputs as commercially licensed

Violations may result in suspension without refund, as described in the Terms and Refund Policy.

7. Attribution

Attribution is optional for paid accounts and active grandfathered Education grant users but appreciated (for example, “Diagram created with ConceptViz”). Free accounts, including Education or Creator applicants who have not completed a qualifying paid purchase, must keep the watermark intact when sharing outside personal lesson prep.

8. Reporting & takedowns

If you believe a ConceptViz diagram infringes your rights:

  1. Email contact@conceptviz.app with the image, prompt, and your ownership claim.
  2. We will review and respond within two business days.
  3. Confirmed infringements will be removed, and related accounts may be suspended.

9. Term & termination

  • Free-account permissions end if you breach these terms
  • Paid commercial permissions for new diagrams end when you no longer qualify as a paid account under §2 (for example after a full refund with no other successful payments)
  • Diagrams lawfully generated under paid-account or grandfathered Education grant rules keep the commercial permission they had at generation time, unless we revoke rights for abuse or legal reasons
  • We may revoke rights if we discover abuse, reselling of access, or prohibited content
