Export Formats and Print Quality

Which formats ConceptViz exports, image sizes at 2K and 4K, how to work out print size at 300 DPI, transparent backgrounds, SVG, PowerPoint and watermarks.

Formats at a glance

The Download menu lists the formats available for the image you have open. Which ones appear depends on the screen you use and your plan. See pricing for what each plan includes.

FormatWhat you get
JPGA standard image. In Studio the JPG carries 300 DPI metadata. Agent also offers a separate 300 ppi JPG.
PNGA lossless image. Use it for a transparent background.
PDFYour image placed on a PDF page sized for 300 DPI. In Agent, a figure that can be exported as vector is saved as a vector PDF; otherwise it is an image PDF, and the app tells you.
SVGA vector file. Quick trace and precise trace both convert text to outlines.
PowerPoint (PPTX)An export with editable text, for slides. Not available for transparent images.

Agent also has a Print button for custom print sizes, described below.

Resolution: 2K and 4K

ConceptViz generates images at a fixed pixel size set by the aspect ratio and the resolution you pick. Free accounts get 2K. Higher plans and packs can use 4K.

SettingPixelsPrint size at 300 DPI (calculated)
2K, 16:92048 × 11526.83 × 3.84 in (17.3 × 9.8 cm)
2K, 4:32048 × 15366.83 × 5.12 in (17.3 × 13.0 cm)
2K, A4 portrait1536 × 20485.12 × 6.83 in (13.0 × 17.3 cm)
4K, 16:93840 × 216012.8 × 7.2 in (32.5 × 18.3 cm)
4K, 4:33072 × 230410.24 × 7.68 in (26.0 × 19.5 cm)
4K, A4 portrait2048 × 30726.83 × 10.24 in (17.3 × 26.0 cm)

Square images (1:1) are limited to 2048 × 2048 px, even when 4K is selected. For a larger file, choose another ratio.

Working out print size

Print size in inches is the pixel count divided by 300. Multiply inches by 2.54 for centimeters. For example, 3840 px wide gives 3840 / 300 = 12.8 in, or about 32.5 cm. The sizes in the table above are calculated this way, not measured from a printer.

300 DPI describes how densely the file is printed. It does not add detail. If you print larger than the calculated size, the effective resolution falls and fine labels can look soft.

In Agent, Print opens a print export dialog. Choose a paper size, the native size at 300 PPI, or a custom width and height in millimeters. Then choose how the image fits:

  • Fit image keeps the whole image and adds white margins.
  • Fill page crops from the center.

Choose JPG for a smaller file or PNG for lossless output. Enlarging cannot restore detail, and each file can be up to 32 megapixels. The dialog shows the original pixels and the effective resolution at your chosen size.

Transparent backgrounds

In Agent, switch on Transparent background before generating to create an image without a background and download it as PNG. If the option says it needs a different model, generate the image first and then use Remove background. In print export, transparent areas use white, so use the PNG download when you need transparency.

SVG: quick trace and precise trace

An SVG exported from a generated picture is a trace of the image, and text becomes outlines, so you cannot edit the words as text. Studio describes the quick trace this way: "Quick trace · text as outlines". The advanced SVG tool is a precise trace, also with text as outlines, and it is a separate tool with its own requirements. Image packs include the quick SVG in the classic Studio.

In Agent, some SVG files have editable text. The menu shows "Editable text" for those and "Text as outlines" for the rest. Check each file in your editor before relying on it, because text may have recognition or layout issues.

PowerPoint

Choose PowerPoint for slides with editable text. The app labels PPTX as part of Pro and Max. Preparing the file usually takes about two minutes and you can keep working. Review the slide before use, since some text may need fixing. If an export fails, your image is saved.

Watermarks

Free accounts get a small conceptviz.app watermark on new images. Buying any credit pack or plan removes the watermark from new images, and so does an approved education entitlement. Images you made before buying keep their watermark, so regenerate them after purchase. A guest image that you save by signing in downloads without a watermark.

Quick checklist

  • Need to print? Pick 4K and a non-square ratio, and divide pixels by 300.
  • Need transparency? Use PNG.
  • Need to edit text? Try PowerPoint, or SVG in Agent when it says "Editable text".
  • To find an image later, see My Images and History.
